Jared Jordan

There Still Is No Slowing Down The Owned Definition Of Mr Pass In Jared Jordan

It never gets boring watching guys in the NBA like a Lebron James or Draymond Green fill up the stat sheet on a regular basis with ease the way Tom Brady does winning games with an offense that any other quarter back would struggle with and wish they could flee the responsibility. You always know what you will get from a Lebron or Green as they do so much well, but then again on the other hand, you have players that in many ways are able to also do everything these guys can do, but to a way lesser extent, but then again have one basketball ability that they especially shine in and use mostly to their advantage on the court. Even though a David Bell can do many things well on the court and is a lot better passer than people might realize, he shines mostly with his scoring and is simply a knock down shooter. Another guy that excels the most at one aspect of the game is ex ratiopharm Ulm center John Bryant who plays for AS Monaco now and led the BBL in rebounds three years in a row as he owned the paint area from 2010-2013 averaging 10,0rpg as one could have named him Mr rebound for good measure. However one player that owns the assist in the easyCredit BBL the way Bill Russell owned the rebound back in the day is Jared Jordan who has inherited the nickname of Mr pass for a reason in Germany the past years. Jordan is a 32 year old 187cm point guard from Hartford Connecticut and is in his 10th professional season and sixth in Germany and second consecutive season with the Walter Tigers Tuebingen. He has dominated the assist stat in Europe the way Michael Jordan dominated the scoring race in the 80´s and 90´s in the NBA as well as How Lebron James has in his career. He is currently leading the German easyCredit BBL in assists at 8,6 and has won the crown the last six years and two years ago in Spain and currently on track to win his seventh straight assist race dating back to the 2010-2011 season. He was no slouch in his first three professional seasons as he was fourth in the Baltic league as a rookie, second in the D-league in 2008-2009 with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and fourth in the BBL in 2009-2010 which was his first season with the Telekom Baskets Bonn in a growing league. However he already put up mind boggling assists averages in college at Marist(NCAA) which already gave a premonition about what would happen when Jordan was a professional.

Jason Brickman Brings A Taste Of Jared Jordan Flavor To Bayreuth

Finding that very classic pass first point guard in the Beko BBL has never been a common thing as a point guard knows how to pass the ball, but the majority of them still can score better on a game to game basis. In the last years in the BBL, if one hand to choose some of these classic pass first point guards that would rather pass than shoot, one could probably pick them off one hand. One guy who has always been at the top of the assist leaders in Germany has been Bane Ratkovica of Tuebingen who twice led the league in assists from 2009-2011 and currently is doing it again. One sometimes had to wonder how the Serb was able to go through a clogged lane with a few big men in traffic breathing him down and still be able to lay the perfect shovel pass to his teammate. Other classic point guards in the past were guys like John Goldsberry who shone more with his defense once having 10 steals as a rookie with Leverkusen, but with Bamberg he helped win 5 titles while being the perfect playmaker that rarely shot, but always found his teammates in the set offense. Another guy that thought first about getting his own teammates in a good position to score before himself was New York native Kevin Hamilton who never averaged less than four assists a game per season in five in Germany and saved his best for last season where he was third in the league with 5,8apg with bayreuth. Hamilton was one of those guys that had this flair of elegance on the court that no other player had and one often watched his movements more than his passing simply because it looked so graceful. The most classic pass first point guard that the Beko BBL ever saw was Jared Jordan who led the German league in assists in three of four years and in between also was the best assist man in the Greek league. From 2011-2013, he led the league in assists with 8,8apg and 7,6apg. Jordan has left Germany and is practicing his talent in Span now with Gipuzkoa BC San Sebastian where he is leading the league with 6,6apg. Jordan who is called Mr pass is like an ice cream man having as many different ways of passing the ball as there are ice cream flavors. With Trevon Hughes not making the cut in Bayreuth for Michael Koch who was seeking that classic point guard again like he had in Bonn with Jordan, he wheeled and dealed and presented a rookie recently with Jason Brickman who is supposed to bring some calmness and organization into the offense. Brickman is a 23 year old 181cm rookie from San Antonio, Texas that played at LIU Brooklyn (NCAA) from 2010-2014. He started the season with Dynamo Moscow (Russia-Superleague) never finding his groove there. “It was very difficult in Russia being the only American and having most of the team not speak English. I did not fit into their system there so it was tough”, stressed Jason Brickman. At LIU Brooklyn, he improved his assist rate each season including from 7,3 to 8,5 to 9,8 as a senior. That was better than what Jordan did his last two seasons at Marist(NCAA) where he averaged 8,6apg while Brickman averaged 9,1apg. Brickman who names Jason Kidd and Steve Nash as his favorite point guards is happy for the experience in college and playing for Jack Peri. “I have had a good sense of passing and pretty good court vision since I was younger. But playing at LIU really helped me to be an even better passer. I played for a great coach and the perfect system so it was a fun experience. Coach Perri was the guy who recruited me to go to LIU. He pushed me to get better every day and he had so much confidence in me so it was easy to play for a coach that really trusts in me. He let me grow as a player each year and gave me more responsibility every year. He challenged me to try and strengthen my weaknesses”, stressed Jason Brickman

Is Jared Jordan The Missing Piece To A Fifth Consecutive Bamberg Bundesliga Title?

In the first three seasons of the Brose Baskets Bamberg Title run, the rosters that had been put together were as intact and unmovable as a Dean Smith once was in North Carolina, a Kobe Bryant has been with the Los Angeles Lakers or a Tom Brady has been with the New England Patriots. Especially at the forward position team scout Brendan Rooney had the right touch finding guys like Kyle Hines, Marcus Slaughter, Reyshawn Terry and PJ Tucker that all had great seasons in the Beko BBL and were instrumental parts to the success of the team. However in the last two seasons, players coming and going during a season which seemed untypical when looking back at the last few years has been as rapid for Bamberg as a Coby Karl having the audacity to fall back near the end of the Fraport Skyliners loss in Ludwigsburg or how FC Bayern Munich head coach Svetislav Pesic visits the court during games. Last season, guys like Teddy Gipson and Latavious Williams didn´t fit into the style and this season the influx of changes seemed to increase as guys like Zach Wright and Damir Markota left. Especially this season that special Fear factor that teams always had in the last years was slowly starting to wane as did Winter in central Germany in mid February. There was a stretch in February where Bamberg was held very close three weeks in a row beating Bremerhaven, Tuebingen and Braunschweig by only a combined 10 points. However with the return home from Ulm last weekend without a cup title, one has to debate when Bamberg will find back to that level they once had before this season. The most important player on the floor is the point guard and the club let Zach Wright go to top Euroleague team Panathinaikos Athens and made the coup of the season swiping away Bonn fan favorite Jared Jordan. Jordan who was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2007 and decided to concentrate on a career in Europe in 2009 after being so close to the NBA has been one of the top 10 point guards in Europe over the last years winning an assist crown in Greece and twice in Germany. With Bamberg losing some of the focus this season with the rise and emergence of FC Bayern Munich, Bamberg manager Wolfgang Heyder made a big steal bringing in the ex Marist guard Jordan. Jordan who is the classical point guard and would rather pass the ball than shoot will give Bamberg a new dimension on offense and so many options. Jordan is such an experienced and smart player that it won´t take him long to shine in the Chris Fleming offense. The question is will Jordan be the missing link and the guarantee to a fifth consecutive championship? “I have seen two games, the first game live in Bamberg-Wurzburg and the television game against Artland. In both games he did very well and wasn’t even looking to score. Rebounded well, 8 against wurzburg, 13 assists against Artland. Jared does what he does no matter which team you put him on. He will lead and organize the team. Jared as everybody knows will find the shooters, cutters and Bigs because he has a gift that is difficult to teach, not too many true point guards in the game today. He will definitely help Bamberg, but there are other strong teams in league this season. I wouldn’t necessarily call Jared a saviour, Bamberg has won 4 straight titles and has a quality program, coaching staff and players. He is not saving them from dropping down, he is just a piece to the puzzle that Brose needed. Is he that piece time will tell, but I think they have a great chance with Jared. As a coach I would definitely take him on my team, he just makes everybody better, is unselfish, wants to win, but most of all a great teammate and person”, stressed Gotha and ex Jordan teammate Chris Ensminger.

He spoke to German Hoops before the playoff series against the Brose Baskets Bamberg,

A do or die 81-62 win against the Fraport Skyliners last weekend. Where would you rank this game in your all time do or die games?

This was one of the biggest wins in my career. All was on the line playing against a direct competitor. It was a good win for the club and me.

The first quarter was pretty much even, but the turning point came in the second quarter. What was key for this?

We picked up our defense. We allowed the Skyliners to nine points in the second quarter and 10 points in the third quarter. We understoon that we needed to defend better and up our intensity level.

Will Jared Jordan-Tony Gaffney Ally-Opp One Last Time Against The Fraport Skyliners April 28th?

This season in the Beko BBL, there have been numerous new players that have dazzled the fans week in and week out with their spectacular play this season like never before giving the league a special spice like EWE Baskets Oldenburg Bobby Brown with his hot shooting and nonstop penetration driving the opponents defense as crazy as Kim Kardashian does Paris Hilton, Fraport Skyliner Jermareo Davidson being able to take his fade away jumper over any defender with as much ease as Kevin Mchale used to do it back with the Boston Celtics or FC Bayern Munich center Jared Homan who at times looks as expressionless on the court as ex President Aberham Lincoln, but he able to consistently be a force under the boards with his stellar play. It isn´t always only single individuals that the fans come to see but also dynamic duo´s like Jared Jordan and Tony Gaffney from the Telekom Baskets Bonn. Jordan is the top assist man in the Beko BBL who also goes by Mr pass and could probably make the perfect pass even if he was high in the stands in the Telekom dome having a bag of pop corn in his right hand while Tony Gaffney has the unique distinction of being a player who has been a Laker and Celtic, but never played a single game for either club. What this dynamic duo does frequently and well is giving the fans a dose of ally-opp stew making that game so much more delectable for the fans. For Bonn fans, they can only hope that the duo of Jordan-Gaffney will not ally-op for the last time this season against the Fraport Skyliners April 30th. Ex Skyliner Ilian Evtimov got a close hand look what these two Americans are capable of. “When you have a point guard like Jared Jordan, he can get the ball anytime anywhere, and then when you add the athleticism of Gaffney it is a great combination. It becomes natural. They did burn us a few times. Gaffney caught a few very difficult passes and made incredible dunks. It often happens when you least expect it. Gaffney is a very good and athletic player. He likes to play on his athletic skills. If there is a ball up it is likely he will catch it and try to dunk it. They have a good combination because they know each other well. Plus Jared Jordan really knows the game. He knows how to pass the ball as good as anybody I have played with. He reminds of Adam Emmenecker. I have never got an ally op dunk, my teammates know to find me at what I do best, shooting the three. Oh and it is worth more points by the way”, Joked Chalon forward Ilian Evtimov.
