Larry thanks for talking to German Hoops again. Congrats on winning the Krombacher challenge in Hagen. How awake and alive was the home crowd already in this young preseason?

The home crowd was very active this weekend, I love the fans in Hagen. They take real pride in being our fans and they really our like our sixth man out there. They are definitely ready for me and the regular season to start!

Phoenix Hagen Beat 2010 Eurochallenge winner BG Goettingen and Beko BBL team Telekom Baskets Bonn. In a way this was a title for Phoenix Hagen. Despite it being a pre season tournament that doesn´t mean anything, how much could you be thrilled about this win?

It’s always good to Win no matter what you are playing for. It sends a good message in how we are going to be in the upcoming season. Being able to finally play against a team in the BBL this pre season definitely helped us build a sense of confidence. But we still were excited about the Win!

My summer was great, enjoyed my family as much as could and I improved my game as well, so it was a productive summer. Ended to quickly but that comes with the territory of been a Professional Basketball Player.

Phoenix Hagen did a great job keeping many players. What were the main reasons for staying?

Yea they did and I think it’s a good thing to continue to build on something that works, we have a great group of returning guys who now how to be successful in this league. I don’t know what the main reasons for guys staying but I’m sure they thought about all the aspects of how successful we can be if we all come back.

What was it like playing against Quantez Robertson?

I was a bit bigger than him, but he was a very strong player at his position. He played very aggressive.

You played the last two seasons in Austria in the small town Kapfenberg. Do you miss the small town feeling there? Hagen is a lot bigger.

I actually prefer a bigger city. It was very small there and not too much to do. I like the downtown area in Hagen and reminds me a bit of home.

Congrats on the 73-67 win at home against Oldenburg. Oldenburg was up by 5 points after three quarters. In the fourth quarter Phoenix Hagen played Hagen basketball erupting for 26 points. Was this not a better example of how the team ALWAYS believes in itself?

It was a great example, and teams are going to start to respect the fact that we don’t ever give up no matter what the game is looking like.

It used to be that nobody talked about the Phoenix Hagen defense, but giving up 67 points and forcing 23 turnovers was excellent. How has Phoenix Hagen improved defensively in the last two months?

We have been more focused and concentrated on defense more than our offense, we know our offense will come and we know that defense is what is going to win games for us.

Welcome to Hagen, Germany. You played the last two seasons in Austria. Now you are in Germany. In both countires, teh language german is spoken. What has been a distinct difference that you have seen since coming to Hagen in the two countries?

I think the biggest difference is the dialect from Hagen and Austria is a bit different. I mean I dont know German all that well to really draw a comparison, but I can sense a difference of how they speak here in Hagen then in Austria.

You played in Holland and Austria the last three seasons and now are ready to make the next jump to the higher league Beko BBL. Are you ready to make the next jump and what are your expectations this season?

Im definitely ready for this move, this is something as a basketball player you strive to get to and that is the highest level of basketball and competition. I have developed as a Pro player every year and I think playing in the Beko BBL is only going to make me into a better player after the season because of all the talent here. My expectations for myself is to play hard and do what ever in ability to help my team here in Hagen reach our goals and have a successful season.
