He spoke to German Hoops before the game against Alba Berlin.

Larry thanks for talking to German Hoops again. A tough 76-70 loss in Weissenfels. It is never easy to win at MBC. What led the Mitteldeutscher BC to having a huge 16 point lead after three quarters?

I wouldn’t say that, we won there last season. They played really good from the start last game and we dug ourselves in a hole that we couldn’t climb out at the end.

Phoenix Hagen still had energy in the fourth quarter and made the game exciting, but couldn´t get the win. Would Phoenix Hagen have got the win with better three point shooting?

No I don’t think so, we have never been defined by our 3pt shooting so that was not a factor, the problem was we got destroyed on the boards and shot 38% for the game, not going to win too many games like that.

MBC easily won the rebounding duel 51-35 against Phoenix Hagen. Is rebounding going to be a big focus this week in practice since Alba Berlin has many big men and rebound well despite losing Leion Radosevic to injury this week.

Rebounding is always a focus, it just comes down to getting it done

Angelo Caloiaro had a huge game with 16 points and 11 rebounds in the MBC win. You spent some time with him in Bonn at the 2014 Allstar game. IF MBC makes the playoffs, would he be a MVP candidate for them?

Yea I would thinks so, he is a really good young player and he is making noise in this league

The next game is against 8 time Beko BBL champion Alba Berlin. What memories do you have from the 107-79 loss in Berlin?

They dominated the paint shooting 51% and we shot good but had too many turnovers

All David Logan fans will disagree, but the best player of Alba Berlin for me is Reggie Redding and you for Phoenix Hagen. This is a great duel. How much are you looking forward to playing against Redding and the other great players?

It’s always good to compete against other top players. Reggie is really good, he does a lot good things for them that makes him very effective. It’s going to be a battle

Phoenix Hagen has had luck the last years beating Alba Berlin a few times at home. Every game is a must win at this stage of the season. What kind of game can we await and what will be key to winning the game?

They are bigger than us and we have to fight hard to keep them out the paint and rebound the basketball well. And execute on offense

Do you think football player Michael Sam will make a good transition to the NFL despite coming out that he is gay?

Yea that shouldn’t matter, but it is a choice lifestyle so you have to deal with it

What was the last DVD movie that you saw?

Captain Philips

Thanks Larry for the chat.
