He is back in the Beko BBL with the Brose Baskets Bamberg.  He spoke to German Hoops about basketball.

What was your impression of  Adnan Hodzic of The Walter Tigers Tuebingen when you played him?

He is a strong player with a lot of energy. A guy that plays with the crowd. He has a lot of talent that can shoot inside and out. He will get better with age. It seems like playing comes easy to him.

Brose Baskets Bamberg coach Chris Fleming has the tough job of keeping the old players motivated for the triple, but I am sure that the new players with Jenkins, Tucker and yourself will be very motivated.

I don’t think that coach will have a hard time motivating anyone. We play to win. We have been practicing hard and the new players bring a lot of excitement and we know what is in front of us. The old players want to create history and the new players want to become part of history. Everyone is highly motivated to win.

The Brose Baskets Bamberg keep showing on a consistent basis that they can have anywhere from 5-7 players in double figures each night. When you played for Bremerhaven you averaged 18ppg and 10rpg. Are you ok not having stats like that in Bamberg?

I am playing for a very good team and my stats are not important to me. Everyone gets recognition so our goal is just to do what it takes to win.

Which Bamberg player has impressed you the most on the court this season?

Brian Roberts is very talented. I was very impressed the first time I saw him play. He is a playmaker, shooter and can make the big play.

What is your role with The Brose Baskets Bamberg?

I have to play good defense and create scoring opportunities for myself. Being that I am an older player with experience in Europe, I have to show leadership. I have to be composed and be mature. So far everything has worked well.

You played in the Beko BBL three years ago. How has it changed most since you last played here?

The media exposure is a lot better, the players are better and the league is seen as better.

In Bremerhaven you liked the Bratwurst. What do you like to eat in Bamberg?

I haven´t really discovered the German food yet. I usually cook at home making pasta and Steak.

What opponent in the Euroleague are you looking forward to playing most?

I am looking forward to playing Malaga and also Athens, because the friend of my brother is Mike Batiste.

What do you like most about Germany?

It is easy to live here, because everybody speaks English. There also is American food that you can get easily and the Military bases are around giving access to us. Everything is Americanized which helps.

Why do basketball players like the TV show Entourage?

It is a great show that is entertaining. Coming from Los Angeles, I can relate to that lifestyle. I know the places that you see on the show.  It is the kind of lifestyle that everyone wants to live.

What was the last DVD movie that you saw?

Get Rich Or Die Tryin.

Thanks Marcus for the chat.
