You are since a while in the States. what was the first thing that you did as you stepped on USA soil?
I went to eat with my family. I always eat Japanese when I come back home.
What did you miss from the States when being in Germany?
I miss my family and friends. I also miss the different restaurants that I eat at.
You were in Miami recently. How did atypical Chris Oliver day look like? Did you just relax on the beach all day.
We would walk on the strip during the day and go out at night. I usually got up at noon and did it all over again.
What would you like to do this summer which you haven´t been able to do the last summers?
This was the first time home so early since I always reached the playoffs the last years with BG Goettingen. I spent over a month in Florida with my dad. There isn´t really anything different that I would want to do.
The Walter Tigers Tuebingen finished the season in 12th place with a record of 15-19.What is your summary to the season?
It was an up and down season. the season started rough, then we had a nice winning streak, but then had a long losing streak, but closed out the season well.
What went wrong with the team near the end of the season with the six game losing streak?
We hurt ourselves with our inconsistency.
What was missing the most form reaching the playoffs?
We were unable to bring the same effort night in and night out which killed us.
How happy were you with your stats of 13,5ppg, 6,4rpg and 46,8fgp? It was your best stats in thebeko BBL.
My stats were ok, but I was up and down.
How difficult was it not reaching the beko BBL playoffs after doing it twice with BG Goettingen?
You play to make the playoffs. It really was hard this year, because I have been used to playing in the playoffs. I don´t want to get used to this feeling of not being in the playoffs.
Who was the most improved Walter Tiger Tuebingen?
Kenny Wiliams. He improved each day and helped us each day.
German basketball magazine FIVE put you in third place for best small forwards in the beko BBL behind Casey Jacobsen and Immanuel Mcelroy, but before Phillip Zwiener and Rickey Paulding. I guess you can be content about that?
It is an honor to be on that list. The two players before me are great players playing for great teams. I can´t argue with where I am.
Will your teammate Bane Ratkovica play for a top beko BBL team or Euroleague team next season?
Bane has that chance. he is a great point guard with passing ability, has size and has great court vision. He can play at the top level.
What do you still need to improve with your game?
I think that I had a better season in Goettingen last season. I have to really improve my three pointer which was at an all time low this season. I can still improve in many places. You can never be satisfied.
What makes the Walter Tiger Tuebingen fans so unique?
The fans are great and always support you even in rough times especially during our 6 game losing streak. We have great fans like Daniel who is always supporting me.
Scottie Pippen said the Lebron James is better than Michael Jordan. How do you react to that statement?
There will never be another Michael Jordan. Lebron James is my favorite player, but no one will ever be like Michael Jordan.
Where do you see your friend Ricky Hickman next season?
I see him going to the first division in Italy. He had a strong season in the second division and it would be hard not to see him play there
What was the last DVD movie that you saw?
Hangover 2. It was funny, but not as good as the first one.
Thanks Chris for the chat.
