Watts sat down with German Hoops after the 81-70 win against Bremerhaven.

Congrats on the 81-70 win at home. How important was rewarding your fans with a win in the last home game considering the long losing streak?

It was big, we had some bright spots in the season but we knew that we would be remembered poorly if we did not finish out the year strong. It was good to beat a quality team at home to finish up.

One can always talk about playing spoiler, but does one feel any different after a game winning and actually being the spoiler than before the game?

I don’t think we even thought about B’Haven in the playoffs, we were more concerned with our team finishing out the year with a home win.

The Walter Tigers Tuebingen controlled the first half leading 48-32. What was key in the first half for having the big lead?

We just came out and shared the ball really well, we had lots of production from different guys on the team, 3x double doubles.

Bremerhaven came back in the second half, but Tuebingen was too much and pulled out the win. What was key on defense grinding out the win in the second half?

Just different guys stepping up and making plays out of the zone, we let it slow us down for a bit but responded when it counted.

Tuebingen showed great team play as Chris Oliver had 30 points and 11 rebounds, you had 22 points, Anatoly Kashirov 11 points and 10 rebounds and Bane Ratkovica 10 points and 10 assists. Do these stats make you wonder hmmmmmmm what could have been if the team had showed more production like this the last weeks?

The ‘what if’ game is a hard game to play, monday morning quarterbacks always get it right lol. Inconsistency was our teams downfall this season, we showed that we can beat anyone in the league and we also lost to teams below us.

What was your impression of ex NBA player Jaimosn Brewer?

Was unaware he played in the NBA.

Have you been surprised by some first round game 1 upsets as Atlanta, Portland and Memphis won?

Add the Hornets to that list, they are probably the biggest upset in my eyes. Portland/Dallas will be a tough series. Memphis did well taking advantage of Manu being out. The Magic need to do a better job supporting Dwight.

Can the IndianaPacers get confidence with their strong first game against Chicago and win this series?

I feel like both teams are inexperienced but I still feel that Chicago will win. The Pacers played with no fear in Chicago though, could be interesting.

How do you see the Boston celtics-New York Knicks series? What will be key and how many games will it take?

That one is tricky, New York has great talent on the floor and Boston has a veteran TEAM. You would think Boston but it depends on the health of the players in my opinion.

Thanks Dane for the chat.
