Brose Bamberg suffered a tough 103-74 loss at the hands of the MHP Riesen. How much did this loss hurt and have you digested it?

Yea we can’t dwell on it. Just move forward. The next games come too quick

I can imagine in a tournament like this you have to move forward quickly. How was the day after? Talk a little about the day. Was there a specific scene during the day that was able to take away from the loss and get the team in a different type of mind set?

No we were focused on the next opponent

In our last interview we talked about how well the defense functioned. Ludwigsburg scored 51 points in the first half and 52 points in the second half. Why didn’t defensive adjustments work in the second half?

It felt like everything they did was right while everything we did was wrong. But we learn from it and continue

Ludwigsburg did a great job with their defensive pressure which is their trademark. Bamberg knew this, but couldn’t adjust to it. How much credit do you give them or was the 74 points more a matter of your team not being able to execute the way they should?

They played their game and did what they wanted. They came ready to play. We need to be locked in especially with fast paced teams like them.

At this point of the tournament would it be fair to say that even excluding Alba Berlin, FC Bayern Munich have their hands full defending their BBL title. How worthy of winning the BBL title are teams like ratiopharm Ulm and Ludwigsburg?

There are a lot of teams with new players and teams who lost players. Everyone is still not in full shape. So it’s anybody’s tournament.

A guy that really profited form COVID-19 and this tournament is John Patrick son Jacob who is a 16 year old kid. How good is he already now? What has been your impression of him and is sky the limit for him?

Haven’t seen him too much but he seems comfortable on the floor. Guys with that comfort level on the floor at a young age can really go as far as they want.

Despite the tough loss what positives can Brose Bamberg take form the Ludwigsburg loss going into the Frankfurt game?

The positive is that we have a game in 2 days to make up for it.

In the last Frankfurt games you always had to watch out for Quantez Robertson, but now you also have to contend with Yorman Polas Bartolo. Despite their age are these two players the best 1-2 defensive punch in the league on paper?

Definitely a great defensive duo. They are known for their high energy and defense. I don’t think anyone ever thinks it will be an easy game with them on the same team.

What was your opinion of the ‘Last dance’ documentary. Did this prove to the younger generation who are wrapped up with Lebron James legacy show that Michael Jordan is the real goat?

Personally Michael Jordan but definitely not by a long shot.

Have you ben able to leave the hotel for an activity or have you just remained in the hotel and try to focus on the basketball business at hand?

Mostly just been in the hotel bonding with my teammates. Game day is game day, and after we spend quality time.

Thanks Kam for the chat.
