He and I team up every week to talk basketball in the Miles basketball minute.

Curtis you recently were home in Texas for Christmas. How was that time for you? Was there one present that really stood out for you?

It was good for me. I got to get away a little bit and see my family so it was great. All the presents I got were nice!

What was your best NBA moment when you were at home? Could you follow the NBA a bit more and did you go to a Mavericks game?

Man there’s so many. I can’t really remember. Probably the Lakers – Clippers game! I couldn’t catch one but I will soon. Hopefully.

You returned back to Germany before 2020. How did you experience the New Year in Germany? Where is the Firework experience better in USA or in Germany?

I just was at home watching basketball! The fireworks here are crazy something I didn’t expect at all.

Congrats on the 86-76 win in Leverkusen. The team started off slowly sustaining a 11-2 run and getting out rebounded 21-12. Why wasn’t the team intensity there from the get go in the first game back in the second part of the season?

I’m not sure. We kind of just tried to figure it out as the game went on and we did.

The Dragons Rhondorf played better in the second half securing the win. How key was the second technical foul? Was that the final turning point of the game?

No it wasn’t a turning point to me. It was cool though we got shots and the ball so that’s always good for us!

The Dragons defended a lot better in the fourth quarter. What did the team do better then and will the team find a way to defend better consistently in the second half of the season?

Yes we will. We just guarded man to man better and helped each other out!

The next game is against Ibbenburen who you lost to on the road. What will be key in getting the win at home?

Playing key defense and playing together offensively. When we played them the first time we struggled but were a completely different team now so I think we will be ready to go.

Kilian Binapfl had another strong game again with a double double after having some tough weeks in December. Do you feel like the time off from the Regionalliga did him good?

He was still here in Bonn with the BBL team so I’m sure getting to be with them and practicing and playing with them helped him get more comfortable when we started back.

Gabriel de Olveria was back again after missing a few months. He scored 16 points. How much did the team miss his inside presence?

We missed his presence a lot. Marek & Jure do a great job of holding it down while he’s gone but his energy and presence is big for us.

You had a very strong game with 25 points and 6 assists. How happy were you with your performance? You carried the team once again in the second half?

I was happy I played well and we won so that’s always good for me. I wouldn’t say I carried the team. I made some plays like I’m supposed too and my teammates did as well so it was a group effort for sure.

Did you do any conditioning work at home in the 10 day break and pick up a basketball?

Of course. I can never stay away I got in the gym as soon as I got back.

The Patriots lost in the Wild Card to Tennessee. Is their dynasty over?

I’m not sure. You can never count out Tom Brady but they need to get him some help very fast.

Thanks Curtis for the chat.
