It is no surprise that one has seen easyCredit BBL teams feature players at the NBA Summer League over the years. In 2014, the Fraport Skyliners had current FC Bayern Munich forward Danilo Barthel suit up for the Miami Hear and he held his own being teammates with NBA players like 2014 NCAA champion Shabaaz Napier with Uconn and Justin Hamilton. However it is rare when a easyCredit BBL team is able to showcase more than one as this summer the Fraport Skyliners will be able to observe three players displaying their abilities with Tai Webster Philip Scrubb and Isaac Bonga.

The third Fraport Skyliner that is playing NBA Summer League this summer is Tai Webster who is wearing the jersey of the Miami Heat in Utah at the moment. Webster who hails from New Zealand and had a stellar career at Nebraska (NCAA) didn’t play World Cup qualifying games last weekend, but opted to get ready for his NBA Summer League gig which will be his second as in the summer of 2017 he suited up for the Golden State Warriors) playing 5 games averaging 2.4ppg, 1.2apg. This summer he is teamamtes with big talents like Derrick Jones Jr of UNLV (NCAA), Duncan Robinson of Michigan (NCAA) and Bam Adebayo of Kentucky (NCAA). Webster didn’t suit up in the first game against the Golden State Warriors, but played 21 minutes in the 89-74 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. He scored three points, hauled down 2 rebounds and dished out 4 assists and had a steal. The only negative stat was his 1/12 shooting day from the field. He has stiff competition from Derrick Walton Jr from Michigan (NCAA) at the point guard position who played 20 minutes scoring 4 points, 3 rebounds, 6 dimes and 3 steals while shooting 1/6 from the field. It will be interesting how this head to head duel continues.
