He spoke to German Hoops recently talking about returning back to an old stomping ground.

Kerron welcome back to the Beko BBL and the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg. When looking back at the success of the team last season as well as your role, why didn´t you just remain this season?

It was just a decision I made at the time that I thought was best for me.

What did you miss most from last season? The great coaching of John Patrick, the yummy Spätzle(curled noodles) or getting nice screens from Jon Brockman?

Hahaha all 3 JP is the best coach I’ve had since becoming a pro and Brock definitely helps you get open. So for me coming back was a no brainier.

How excited are you to be back in Ludwigsburg? The positive thing is you won´t need any adjustment period since you know the system of John Patrick.

Yea like I said the system was one I understand and thrived in both offensively and defensively. So for me it’s about brushing up on the small details.

You moved from a 4-11 team Rouen to a strong team Ludwigsburg. When you started the season in France did you ever think that it would be such a struggle as the team is in 17th place?

No nobody starts the season thinking it would start like that. We had our chances and lost some games we should have won.

Rouen was stacked with many guards. Did you ever find your role or was it all a bit confusing?

It was a little bit confusing but that happens from time to time in professional sports.

You were second in assists, but as a scorer averaging only 7,6ppg. Did you feel like you were playing underachieving a bit?

No I just felt like we had a lot of guys who could score so it wasn’t my role to score 20 points.

Was it difficult getting used to the up and down pace and athletic of the France Pro A and being able to find consistency?

I mean changing leagues is an adjustment for any player but yea there was definitely an adjustment that had to be made.

After 2 full seasons in New Zealand and Germany, you played half a season in France. What lesson did you learn from this experience that will make you stronger for future adversary?

Just staying positive in any situation.

Do you see yourself having a similar role to last season or different as this season´s club seems deeper than last season.

I don’t know yet but I doubt it like you said this team is a lot deeper.

Mark April 16th on your calendar. That is when FC Bayern Munich plays in Ludwigsburg with ex Belmont player Alex Renfroe. Obviously getting the win is always most important, but will you be feeling a little extra competitiveness than usual dueling against one of top point guards in BBL?

Well yea I always enjoy playing against Alex and it’s always competitive but with so many good guards in the league that’s a week by week competitiveness that you can’t afford to lose.

What was the last movie that you saw?

Star Wars.

Thanks Kerron for the chat.
