Larry thanks for talking to German Hoops again. Phoenix Hagen lost last weekend 105-95 to ratiopharm Ulm. Another typical high scoring Phoenix Hagen game, but ratiopharm Ulm was able to score even more points. What were the main reasons this time for Phoenix Hagen not being able to get the win?
We just were not lucky this time around, Ulm played very good.
What was your overall impression of ratiopharm Ulm. How much different of a club are they now without John Bryant? It seems that they still have many good rebounders to compensate the loss.
They still are solid, have good players that play well. One player doesn’t define a team, so they are doing quite well with out him.
Phoenix Hagen have averaged 106 points in the last two games. Has the club losed a little focus on the defensive end? You always state again in interviews that the main focus for the team is defense.
Our focus is never lost on defense, we play hard and aggressive. Last couple of games the referees do not award good defense, they call everything. So it’s hard to play good defense
German Niklas Geske continues to get more minutes in the last games. He is a third point guard on the team. How have you seen his development progress this season
I mean he getting into a flow and it’s good for him to make the next step, he is making the best if his opportunity
The next game is against the Mitteldeutscher BC. They have the identical record of Phoenix Hagen. What kind of a game can we await?
You can await a focused and concentrated hard played game from us. We need this Win, we want this Win!
They have been playing superb basketball as of late and are always distancing themselves more from the lower part of the standings. They have very good guards and three point shooters. What will make the difference for Phoenix Hagen getting the win this weekend?
We have to play harder than them! We have to win the one on one battles on defense and rebounding. The pressure is on them to come to our house and Win.
How have you followed the career of Andrew Bynum as of late. Just a role player with the Cavs and then traded to the Chicago Bulls and then immediately released. Will he ever find the form he once had in his basketball career?
Andrew Bynum is done, he was a good player before his injury, he should have just stayed with the Lakers and now look at him
What was the last DVD movie that you saw?
Don Jon
Thanks Larry for the chat.
