He spoke to German Hoops recently about his new team The Walter Tigers Tuebingen.

How was your summer Josh? Was there anything you could do this summer which you were unable to do the last summers?

The summer was great. I got to spend a lot of time with my family while being able to work out. I also took a mission trip to Africa this summer. It was awesome

How does a typical Josh Young off season workout day look like?

offTypical season workout involves a morning run. I like to lift weights and then do some cardio. After that, I do shooting, skill workouts, and hopefully play some 5 on 5.

What things do you still need to work on on your game?

I’m still trying to develop high level point guard skills. Besides that, I always think I can improve every area of my game

How satisfying was it knowing already very early that the Walter Tigers Tuebingen had wanted you and thus signed you?

I was able have peace of mind this summer knowing that I had already signed with the club. I was excited that Tubingen showed so much interest early.

It is not every day that a player makes the jump from PRO B to the BEKO BBL. Do you feel pressure?

There’s no pressure. I’ll just play the game I’ve always played and look to improve every day.

Last season, you played for the Bayer Giants Leverkusen (Germany-ProB) playing 11 games: 26.7ppg, 6.4rpg, 3.0apg, 2.3spg, FGP: 45.2%, 3PT: 45.3%, FT: 79.0%. You seemed way to good for this league, but were you still able to get something out of it?

Last season helped boost my confidence as a player. It also helped me learn how to be able to run a team early in my career and really be a leader

Have you talked to Tigers coach Igor Perovic about what your role will be? I am sure he has more planned for you then giving the starting point guard a breather?

My role this year will be to make plays, offensively and defensively. Whether its for my teammates or myself, I just want to help my team win games.

What is a strength in your game that doesn´t always get noticed right away?

I think my ability to finish around the rim. I’m not the biggest guy but am crafty close to the basket.

This will be your second season in Germany. What do you like most about Germany?

The people. They are really friendly and very supportive of basketball here.

You played at Drake from 2006-2010. What is your fondest memory and story with ex teammate Adam Emmenecker?

That was such an amazing year. The 21 game win streak we had was magical but the best memory was winning the Missouri Valley Conference and Tournament.

What is your take of Ron Artest changing his name to world peace?

Ron Artest is a different type of person. Although it seems weird, its possible that his motives are pure

Many NBA players are coming over to Europe this season like Deron Williams, Jordan Farmerand others. Which guy will adjust best to Europe?

I think Deron Williams will have a big year in Turkey

What was the last DVD movie that you saw?

Thanks Josh for the chat.
