Adnan Hodzic is a 23 year old 203cm fprward from Sarajevo, Bosnia that will make his professional basketball debut in the Beko BBL for The Walter Tigers Tuebingen this season. He just finished a four year college basketball career at Lipscomb (NCAA). In his senior year, he played 30 games: 17.7ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.0apg, FGP: 56.3%, 3PT: 12.5%, FT: 72.6%. His strongest statistical season was his junior year where he played 30 games: 22.7ppg, 9.1rpg, FGP: 60.4%, FT: 67.6%. Awards/Achievements in his career so far have been A-Sun All-Freshman Team -08, A-Sun Tournament Semifinals -09, All-A-Sun 1st Team -09, 10, 11, A-Sun Regular Season Champion -10, All-A-Sun Player of the Year -10, NABC Division I All-District 3 1st Team -10, 11, AP NCAA All-America Honorable Mention -10, and Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team -11. Hodzic spoke to German Hoops about basketball

Congrats on getting contract with The Walter Tigers Tuebingen. How did your first go with finding a team go? Did you have many more offers? The market has been tough in last years so getting a job so early must be very satisfying?

The Walter Tigers offer was very unexpected. My agent was more so looking to place me in Spain or Italy. However, the Walter Tigers gave me a great offer that was hard to turn down. Also, the coach I liked a lot, it was easy to communicate with him because we speak the same language.

What do you know about the country Germany and the league Beko BBL?

I dont know much about Germany except that they make the best automobiles in the world hahaha. Also I saw on the internet that Tubingen is a very beautiful place to be. About the BBL I have heard many good things. I have heard that they are the most financially stable league in Europe.

The Walter Tigers Tuebingen have signed 3 rookies with Vaughn Duggins, Tyrone Nash and yourself. Do you feel any big pressure knowing that you will be relied on producing a lot?

I dont like to feel pressure, I look at it as an opportunity to showcase my abilities. I am very excited and I am sure the other rookies are as well.

You and Tyrone Nash are both 203cm, but could play side by side. How do you think you guys could work together on the court? Nash played center at Notre Dame?

I think we could do a lot of high low stuff together. I am sure that coach Perovic has some great ideas.

What is a strength in your game that isn´t always recognized by critics and fans?

One strength that is very overlooked is my ability to shoot from outside. All spring and summer I have been working on expanding my game. I have developed a good mid range and long range shot. I am also good at driving the ball to the rim.

You played at Lipscomb (NCAA). You had very strong stats there. Did the fact that you didn´t play at a well known school hurt your credibility as a player? How have you been able to cope with this?

Absolutely it did, just as it did many other players. However, some of my best games were against bigger schools and better competition. I just play hard every night. The critics and doubters will always be there.

What is your most fondest memory at Lipscomb (NCAA) on and off the court?

The best memory was winning our league regular season championship my junior season

Who was the best player that you played against in the NCAA that might be in the NBA now?

The best player i played against in the NCAA was my junior year. I played against Derrick Williams. I had 34pts 13reb

You studied Psychology at Lipscomb. If you had to help or give advice to Lebron James about returning back to the court and being successful with the Miami Heat what would you tell him?

haha I dont know what I would tell him. He is a big time professional, I am sure he will be fine. He just needs to go out there and block out the critics and play his game freely

Why do you like the movie Remember the Titans so much?

I  love remember the titans because it is a very intense and athletic movie. I love movies like that

One of your interests is eating. If you were to take place in the Hotdog eating contest, how many dogs could you eat?

haha I dont like hotdogs, those guys are incredible

What is your take on Ron Artest changing his name to World Peace?

Ron Artest changing his name to metta world peace was very shocking. But I support him

What was the last DVD movie that you saw?

The last DVD that I have watched was the TV series entourage
