The New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig lost in 5 games to the Artland Dragons in May. What was key in this series for Artland advancing?

I think they were just too tough at home last game. It was a great series , both teams played real hard but at the end they just executed better than us.

You played two seasons in Braunschweig. How did your game improve further under head coach Sebastian Machowksi who you already had as coach in Poland?

I think I get a lot better under coach. He gave me a lot of confidence on the floor and I think that I was able to play better in those circumstances so I am very thankful for that.

A former teammate of you said that a reason he left Braunschweig was because of a lack of ambition by the club for the future. Are you sad that so many guys left the team. Why was that? Was it just the usual difference in financial things?

I think it was different reasons for different people. I had a great time in Braunschweig though, and I wish the team and organization much success.

You have played in Puerto Rico the last summers and this summer for Indios de Mayaguez. Is it just the love of basketball or why dont you take 2 months off before getting ready for the new season?

Well it is love and the fact that I have the opurtunity to continue to earn for my family. I love playing in the league and I am young and feel good so I figure I will do it as long as my body allows.

You averaged 8,3apg in the Puerto Rico league this summer the most you ever made in that league. Was it motivation of performing well after the loss to Artland, the right players, or team that enabled you to get so many assists?

I think it was a combination of a lot of things. The Puerto Rican league is a  league that is played at much faster pace , so it is a much more offensive minded league. The team I was on this year had many scorers and just needed a distributer which I like to do anyway so it was a good fit. Also I was only able to play 10 games with the club so, I had a couple high assist games early that really helped me out.

Presently you are with the Pruerto Rican national team. What kind of experience has this been for you?

It has been a really nice experience. The competition has been great, the guys are all very nice people and I have learned a lot already from coach Melendez. I am real excited for the opportunity to play with the team and if my name is called I will be ready.

Are any of the NBA players there like Carlos Arroyo, Jose Barrea or Renaldo Balkmann? How much fun is it playing there?

JJ is here, the other guys should be joining the team in August.

You have expressed interest in playing for the Frankfurt Fraport Skyliners. How badly would you like to play there?

Frankfurt would be a great place to play. They have had two great seasons since I have been here and from what I hear they are a very professional and welcoming place to play. I am interested in any situation like that.

If you did play there would you feel a lot of pressure taking over at the point for Dashaun Wood?

I think I would feel more pressure to win then to replace a certain player. There last two point guards have had very good seasons with the club both individually and collectively. I think that we all have different games and strengths so its hard to compare but winning is what made their seasons so special in my opinion.
What is always the most difficult thing you have to be aware of when a Quantez Robertson is lurking near you when you have the ball?

Everything, Quantez Robertson was one of the best defenders in the league, and one of the most athletic human beings I have ever seen.

What is your opinion of Ron Artest changing his name to World Peace?

He is from Queens so he gets a pass !

What was the last DVD movie that you saw?

Horrible Bosses.

Thanks Kev fort he chat
