Seth spoke to German Hoops about his life in Turkey.

You are playing for Olin Edirne in Turkey. How do you like it?

It is ok. I am here to play basketball. This season is similar to last year In Frankfurt. We were not expected to do much this season, but we got off to a good start and got some good wins. We are playing very hard to achieve success like in Frankfurt.

Where is Olin Edirne exactly?

It is the eastern part of Turkey five kilometers from the Greek boarder and two hours west from Istanbul.

Is the lifestyle in turkey harder to get used to than in Germany?

It is not more difficult, but more different. I had everything in Germany. Everyone was friendly in Germany and in turkey there are less speaking English. There are less options for food and we stay more at home and cook. There are also less activities here. I guess that I was a bit spoiled in Frankfurt.

You played against Besiktas Istanbul and Allen Iverson losing by 12 points. Iverson scored 10 points and you scored 7 points. What kind of experience was this for you?

It was a great experience playing against him. Iverson has brought a lot of excitement to the league. He wasn´t anything what I expected. he wasn´t  arrogant at all, but down to earth and was a real team player. I expected to win, but I didn´´t play very well.

If you could of asked Iverson one question what would you have asked him?

I would of asked him how the transition has been from the NBA to Europe and how it was to come from the top level of the NBA and play overseas and how he is coping with the new lifestyle.

What is your role in the team?

We have more of a slow down system focusing on the center. I have to be ready to hit the jumpers when the center gets doubled and on defense help out on the rotations.

How would you compare the Turkish league with the BEKO BBL?

Both leagues are comparable. We play more  a team style, while most other teams have 4 Americans and play more of a one on one game.

What is your impression of teammate Renaldas Seibut who was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks?

He is a talented young player. You see that he is growing each day as a player. I think he has the potential to play in the NBA one day.

Do you still have contact to your ex teammates Grayson Moyer and Marius Nolte?

Yes I do, but I only talk to them about once a month. It is hard to keep contact when you are worrying about the next game. But I consider both very good friends.

How did you hear about the horrible news about AJ Moye?

I actually heard about it the day after when the parents of my wife and said they had seen the news about Moye on TV. I was worried when I heard about it.

The Deutsche Bank Skyliners are in second place. Do you miss not being able to help the team?

Of course I miss not helping them, but basketball is a business and I play in Turkey now. Frankfurt has a great organization and I check on how they are doing and always wish them the best.

You played one season together with Skyliner Dashaun Wood at Wright State. Did you already know then that he would be  a great player?

Yes I knew that he was a special player. I was a senior and he was a freshman and he started which is something that doesn´t always happen as a freshman. I followed his growth the last years and he is a heck of a point guard.

What do you miss the most about Germany?

I miss how americanized it is. I had the subway and Burger King which just made life more easy.

Who wins a one on one game in practice you or Rhea Oz?

We don´t really play one on one. Basketball is a team game on our team.

What was the last DVD movie that you saw?

The Dark Knight.

Thanks Seth for the chat.
