He took some time to talk to German Hoops after the 89-68 win against Krasnie Krilya in EuroChallenge play.

Jason congrats on reaching the Elite 8 of the Eurochallenge beating Krasnie Krilya 89-68. How good of a feeling is this? Is this your biggest achievement as a professional basketball player?

Thank you, this year has been a year of a lot of “firsts” in my professional basketball career and the Elite 8 is great but the Final 4 will be much more enjoyable.

BG Goettingen has home court advantage? How confident is the club and how realistic is it reaching the final four?

We, like most teams, enjoy playing games at home. The fans at the Lokhalle really bring the best out of us, and we’re confident that we can advance if we play the way we’re known to play.

The first half was very tight as BG Goettingen had a slim 42-39 lead. It seemed like the club was having problems with Marcus Dohthit? Was he really the biggest problem for BG Goettingen?

He definitely played a tough game for them. I think the first time we played them he was coming back from an injury and wasn’t nearly as mobile or playing with nearly as much confidence as he did this time around. Luckily we were able to play physical and throw our big guys at him in waves and we could see him start to tire as the game went on.

John Little displayed a lot of energy in the first half. Did he have an extra energy drink? Describe the alley-op of his?

He took the loss in Samara pretty hard, we were up with only a few seconds left and he stepped on the sideline making a cut to catch the ball. I knew he wouldn’t have a problem getting ready for this game, and he definitely showed why he would have been the BBL dunk contest winner this season (no disrespect to Shuler).

BG Goettingen had a 11-0 run in the third quarter. Was that the turning point of the game?

That run definitely got us the lead that they were never able to come back from, but honestly the game turned a few minutes before that. We were going back and forth but you could see that they were fading quickly and arguing with each other. Once teams do that we know we got them right where we want them and right after that was when we went on that run.

In the fourth quarter BG Goettingen had an 18-0 run. Did this and the final score look as easy as it seemed?

It was never easy, but they definitely reached a point where they threw in the towel and when that happens it definitely doesn’t seem as difficult.

Do you think the score could have been different if Ernest Bremer had played?

Bremer would have helped them, but like I said, we lost a heartbreaker out there and were ready to jump on them from the beginning. Do I think he would have made a 21pt difference?…No

How happy were you with your performance of 14 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. That is about as all around as it gets?

I felt like I played pretty well, our inside defense in the first half wasn’t as good as it should have been and that starts with me but all around I was satisfied with the way I played.

Which BG Goettingen player was the unsung hero of the game?

Taylor Rochestie got hot during a few stretches but our hero of this game was definitely John Little, his intensity on defense is what we pride ourselves on and then he goes and has two big dunks, knocks down three huge 3’s and as always is the biggest supporter of his teammates when he’s on the bench.

What did coach John Patrick tell the team after this win?

Coach told us congrats on winning the group and not to celebrate too much because we have a lot more work to do if we want to advance to the final four and eventually win the whole thing.

Thanks Jason for talking to German Hoops.
