Marcus Ginyard is a 23 year old 196cm shooting guard/small forward from Alexandria, Virginia that is playing his first season with BBC Bayreuth. He played at the University of North Carolina from 2005-2010. In his senior year, he played 33 games: 7.7ppg, 4.9rpg, 2.8apg, 1.2spg, FGP: 40.6%, 3PT: 30.9%, FT: 67.1%. Some of his achievements at North Carolina were , ACC Tournament Semifinals -06, 09, ACC Regular Season Champion 08, 09, ACC Tournament Winner -07, 08, NCAA Elite Eight -07, ACC All-Defensive Team -08, NCAA Final Four -08 and was a NIT Finalist -10. How was it playing against Immanuel Mcelroy of Alba Berlin?

It was a great challenge and I had a lot of fun with the matchup. I thought that I played ok. I made some mistakes and Alba Berlin took advantage of it. It was a great learning experience.

In 2007-2008, he played for Cuxhaven BasCats (Germany-ProA, starting five): 28 games: 15.6ppg, 2.9rpg, 4.2apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 51.4%, 3FGP: 38.1%, FT: 76.3%. In 2008-2009, he played for Giants Noerdlingen (Germany-1.Bundesliga, starting five): 34 games: 12.2ppg, 1.9rpg, 3.5apg, 1.1spg, FGP: 49.3%, 3PT: 38.2%, FT: 66.0%. Last season, he led the Dutch league in scoring for Zorg and Zekerheid Leiden (Holland-Eredivisie, starting five): 43 games: Score-1 (18.3ppg), 2.8rpg, Assists-5 (4.3apg), 1.4spg, FGP: 55.4%, 3PT: 42.3%, FT: 73.3%. You are back in Germany playing for BBC Bayreuth. This will be your fifth professional season and you have played four years in Germany. You must of had many offers last summer, but you always seem to come back to Germany. is Germany like your second home now?

Germany has been very good to me. I felt like it was a great chance for me to come back and showcase my skills against some of the best competition in Europe !


Adam Baumann Career Ending Interview

Adam Baumann is a 28 year old 203cm power forward/center that recently announced his retirement from professional basketball to return home to Arizona to pursue a career as a fire fighter. He is from Scottsdale, Arizona and played at Yavapai and Youngstown in the NCAA.

He started his professional basketball career in 2004 in Germany and played overseas for five and half years. He played with Phoenix Hagen from 2004-2008 in the second Bundesliga. In three of four years, he had double double stats in points and rebounds. His best season with Phoenix Hagen was 2006-2007 as he played 29 games averaging 19.2ppg, Reb-2(11.2rpg), 1.2apg, 1.0spg, 2FGP: 62%, 3FGP: 28.9%, FT: 83.5%. Last season, he played for VFL Kirchheim in the PRO A playing 30 games averaging 16.5ppg, Reb-3(10.1rpg), 1.2spg, FGP: 53.7%, 3PT: 29.1%, FT: 78.6%. This season, he played 13 games with BBC Bayreuth averaging 14,2ppg, 4,7rpg, 1,6apg in 22 minutes per game.

Drew Williamson is a 25 year old 183cm guard from Burlington, North Carolina. He played at ODU from 2003-2007. In his senior year, he played 33 games averaging 11.0ppg, 3.6rpg, 4.3apg, 2.3spg, FGP: 41.8%, 3Pts: 35.0%, FT: 72.6%. He was the CAA Regular Season Champion in 2005 and reached the NIT Final Four in 2006. In 2007-2008, he came to Germany as a rookie and played for Mitteldeutscher BC playing 9 games: 13.4ppg, 3.4rpg, 3.6apg, 2.0spg, FGP: 48.3%, 3PT: 37.1%, FT: 72.2%.
