This season, he is playing for Maccabi Haifa (Israel-Premier League) and spoke to German Hoops before the Eurochallenge game against The Deutsche Bank Skyliners December 7th.

Hello again German Hoops and to all the basketball fans all over the world. Before we start the interview I want to ask you all to send a prayer or two for the citizens of Haifa, Israel. Something that SMALL could help the city recover from this horrifc event. Unfortunately over the weekend the city of Haifa has been battling a fire that has taking the lives of 40 plus people and detroyed most if not all of the forest in our city. It is being called the biggest fire in Israel history to date. My heart and the hearts of everyone here from Maccabi Haifa goes out to the families who have lost loved ones and homes due to the fire.

Both Frankfurt and Macabbi Haifa lost their games last weekend. How crazy is that. How much did this surprise you?

When I heard that Frankfurt lost I was very surprised and it just reassured me that our bracket is a competitive one and there are no nights off.
Our lost at home was also surprising to me, but we came out flat once again and BK Ventspils took full advantage and jumped on us early. As long as we continue to do this teams will take advantage and give us little to no chance of winning.

Macabbi Haifa lost 86-80 to BK Ventspils. What was key in this game for BK Ventspils winning? It seemed like Maccabi Haifa had problems on the boards?

The key was simple Rashad Anderson. He came out like he had something to prove and embraced all of our guards defensively. It was the most complete game I have seen from him in a really long time. No way in the WORLD can we allow him to go off like that and expect to win. We did have a problem on the boards but his efforts are what got them off to a great start

How well has Elishay Kadir been getting integrated into the team? He had 10 points, four rebounds and three assists against BK Ventspils.

His transition has been coming along very well. He is such a key for our team and once we handle all of our health issues I am positive things will turn around for us. Elishay’s is still getting into a rythm with us and getting into shape and his work ethic will allow him to be in the running for Israeli MVP once again for sure.

Could Kadir be the difference between losing and winning against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the finals next year?

He will be a key to our SUCCESS for sure. Beating Tel-Aviv is not something you can put on one mans shoulders, it will take a complete team effort to beat them at any point in the year. He is the type of player that will XCHANGE his personal success and stats if it will lead us to a win and thats what i love about him, its all about team.

How well has Drew Housman been developing since arriving November 10th? Does he have to put up with Harvard jokes in the lockerroom?

Drew is our Steve Blake (insider) he does the dirty work, and to be honest what he showed us in his first game with significant minutes against BK Ventspils shows us that he is adapting very nicely and will only get better. Although the things he does for our team dont show on the stat sheet all of the time I think it is important to have a guard with his skill set on your roster. His toughness and desire to win is something our team needs to move forward.
As far as the Harvard jokes we really dont get on him a lot but if there is any statistic that you dont know he will surly tell you (ex how many points is Landry Fields averaging this year for the Knicks)

How did you hear about the stroke of AJ Moye? How did you take the news and how will his loss effect The Deutsche Bank Skyliners?

I was really sad to hear what happen to AJ, something that serious makes you really sit back and think how important good health is man. I didnt not take the news to well because even though I dont know him personally one of my teammates does and just to see how it affectted Marco was enough. His situation will definatley affect Frankfurt but it will either bring them closer togather and make them even more dangerous or it will cause problems in their team until the find a player tht can play that role.

The Deutsche Bank Skyliners will be without AJ Moye and Roger Powell, but will have Jermaine Bucknor. In a way, they are a bit stronger than in the Frankfurt game since they will still be without Moye and Powell, but have Bucknow in Haifa.

Powell played against us in Frankfurt and he was the key for them in Frankfurt. Im not familiar with Bucknor so I cant really speak on if they will be stronger or not. They have really good guards so no matter who is at forward the team will always be dangerous

What can we await from the game in Haifa?

Another tough up tempo game. It was fun there but I was injured with a torn stomach muscle so now that I am pain free I am sure it will be even more fun

Do you think that Dashaun Wood can reach 40 points in the BEKO BBL?

I believe Dashaun Wood has the abiliy to be one of the top Point Guards in Europe if he isnt already. With that said I think Dashaun can wake up on any given day and he will do what he wants. If he wakes up and feels like scoring 40 he has the ability to do so if he wakes up and feels like getting 12 assisst he probably will make the passes to get that done as well.

What was the last DVD movie that you saw?

I just finished watching The Social Network. As I continue to prepare and develop SWSX (ill explain later) with Horace Wormly, Tamal Forchion, and Joe Crawford, that movie gives me sleepless nights but also provides certain knowledge that can become useful on our journey.

thank you again German Hoops for your time and dont forget to keep Haifa in your prayers.
