You are from Seattle, Washington. Is it as cold here as there?

The weather is similar, but it doesn´t snow as much back home. As soon as we get around one inch of snow everything shuts down. Schools close and people dont go to work. Since I have been in Germany it has always snowed. At Sacred Heart, it snowed all the time and it was not my favorite.

What was your most memorable childhood snow experience?

Hiding out in the woods and throwing snowballs at kids who passed by. I actually met a lot of my best friends by throwing snowballs into their faces. lol

You are currently living in Mainz and looking for a team. How is your search going?

It has been up and down. It has been tough, but I am staying patient and am confident that I will get a job. I have a membership at Fitness First and have been practicing with the Maintz. Regionaliga team and on my own taking shots.

Why don´t you have a team? You have already played in Germany before.

I was hurt last season and that set me back a bit. I only had a short term contract in Langen. I guess they weren´t sure how my injury would work out. Teams must of lost confidence in me because they never saw me play.

How frustrating is it not having a team. There are many players who are looking for teams.

It can be very frustrating and I think about this everyday. However I think that not having a team has made me more hungry. I can concentrate on my individual game while other players have to concentrate on team things.

You are living in Germany so I guess you want to stay in Germany. Would you be willing to play in another country?

I am open to play any where. I would like to stay in Germany since my girlfriend lives here, but moving around is part of the job. I would be willing to travel and see the world.

What do you like most about Germany?

I think that Germany is similar to the States in that it is laid back. It is democratic in Germany and all speak english and you find same food and products as well. It is great how people of different races can live together so well. Everyone is so friendly here and they all say guten tag.

You are a 203cm forward. What is your strength as player?

I play the 4/3, but can also play center. I shoot the ball well, can put the ball to the ground and coaches are always surprised how well I can handle the ball. I also can play with my back to the basket. My senior year at Sacred Heart I had to play center due to injuries, but I am a natural four man. I might not be the best jumper, but I can do many things well.

What is a strength in your game that doesn´t always get noticed right away?

I think that my leadership doesn´t always get noticed. I also think that my defense doesn´´t always get noticed. You need to play more team on defense than on offense.

You played a few months for TV Langen. How was this experience for you?

It was a different kind of experience. I had good and bad times. I got hurt and was depressed for a few weeks which is normal for any player that suffers an injury. TV Langen was having  a tough season and perhaps it was better that the ymoved down to PRO B to help boost their German players.

Who won a one on one game in practice, you or Marco Voeller?

I think Marco knows the answer to that. I would win. I like Marco a lot. He is a good player. He can do it all shoot and rebound. He just needs to get a better feel for the game, but he was always getting better.

Did you know that his father is a soccer legend in Germany?

No I didn´t. I found out when we were at a game and everyone was chanting Rudi Voeller and then Brandon Chappel told me that his dad was the Michael Jordan in soccer.

You finished last season with UBC Muenster in the Regionaliga averaging 17,5ppg in 8 games. How difficult was it going down two steps to the Regionaliga?

I just wanted to finish the season playing basketball. I was coming off an injury and Muenster gave me an offer and I took it. It hurt my ego playing Regionaliga, but I finished strong and it was a good experience.

What was your childhood like in Seattle, Washington?

I played a lot of basketball and video games. It was a nice childhood and I wish I could go back to that time.

Who were your NBA idols as a kid?

Michael Jordan of course. I also liked Kevin Garnett who was my favorite player. I also liked Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp.

Which NBA player didn´t you like?

I never liked Bruce Bowen, because he always stopped the opponents best scorer and I also never liked the San Antonio Spurs.

Why didn´t the Seattle Supersonics never win an NBA title as you were a kid?

I think they should of won at least one title, but it was tough in the Jordan era. He stopped so many teams from getting titles.

You went from the west coast to the East coast to play at Sacred Heart. Why did you go there?

They were the only school that stuck with me. I wanted to go to Washington, but that didn´t work out. Sacred Heart wanted me most and why not go somewhere where one is wanted?

What was your nicest experience at Sacred Heart off the court?

Everything I learned in the classroom like in Philosophy which helped shape the way I think

Who was the best player that you played against in the NCAA that might be in the NBA now?

I played against Ty Lawson and North Carolina in my freshman year. We led at halftime, but lost by 18 points. I also played against Rudy Gay who was amazing and Brandon Roy.

You played together with Liam Potter. How much experience does he have?

He is a seven footer that can jump and block shots. I never saw a guy block shots the way he did. He is starting to understand the game better. He started thinking he was Dirk at the perimeter, which wa snot his game. If he keeps working he will be very good.

What was your nicest experience on the court at Sacred Heart?

Reaching the conference final two years in a row.

You played also in Kaiserslautern, but had to leave early. You averaged 7,9ppg and 4,2rpg in 17 games. How was this experience for you?

It was a tough time. They were going through  a transition with three coaches and many new players. I was a rookie, but I still have good ties to team.

Did you ever see such a cool name like Pele Paelay?

No that a cool name. He is a great guy with a big smile. He looks mean and you would never think that he could crack funny jokes, but he does. He is really the nicest guy.

What was your fondest memory of Marcus Smallwood?

Going to Paris for Christmas a few years ago and meeting my girlfriend through him.

What were the most free throws made in a row in practice?

45

What was your most crazy shot that you made in a game or practice?

It wasn´t too long ago in Mainz. We were goofing around and I hit a shot from the other free throw line with my back to the basket and I threw it over my head and it went swish.

What would you like to do after your basketball career?

Something with sports management.
